OMAHA NE– October 24th, 2022 – Marcus Theatres is proud to announce a special one night only benefit screening of “THE CALL: THE UNCUT EXPERIENCE” on Friday, October 28th, 2022 at 7:00pm at the Marcus Majestic Cinema, 14304 Maple Street in Omaha.
“THE CALL: THE UNCUT EXPERIENCE” stars Emmy Award-winner Lin Shaye (“Insidious,” “There’s Something About Mary,” “Kingpin”), Tobin Bell (“Saw”) and Chester Rushing (“Stranger Things”) in this terrifying tale of death and revenge from the grave.
In the fall of 1987, after a tragic accident, a group of small-town friends must survive the night in the home of a sinister couple. One by one, their worst nightmares quickly become reality as they enter the realm of the dead.
“THE CALL” was released on October 2nd, 2020, debuting on over 350 screens domestically (both indoor theatres and drive-ins), eventually playing theatrically in ten countries. The film debuted at #1 per screen average opening weekend in over 50 markets, making its debut on VOD during the 2020 Halloween weekend (in the Top 5 nationally) and released on DVD/Blu-ray on December 15th, 2020.
The surprise horror hit was directed by Emmy Award-winning director Timothy Woodward Jr. (“Final Wish,” “Studio City”) and written by Patrick Stibbs (“Ghost in the Graveyard”) The hauntingly beautiful score was composed by Samuel Joseph Smythe (“The Outsider”). Woodward, Jr. produced the project with Wonderfilm Media’s Kirk Shaw, Lin Shaye, Gina Rugolo Judd, Jeffrey Reddick (“Final Destination”), Zeb Huling, Randy J. Goodwin (“Vampire Diaries”) and Patrick Stibbs.
All those in attendance will be insured against Death by Fright: should anyone die of fright during the showing of “THE CALL: THE UNCUT EXPERIENCE” the producers of the film will pay their next-of-kin $5,000 toward funeral expenses.
“THE CALL: THE UNCUT EXPERIENCE” will feature deleted scenes and a new interview with the director. Tickets for the screening are $10 and will be available at the door that evening starting at 6:00pm. 'The Call' Trailer: Horror Icon Lin Shaye Gets Revenge on Tormenting Kids (Exclusive)
Four teenagers are terrorized from the grave by an old woman they murdered.
When 17-year-old CHRIS MITCHELL moves to the small Midwestern town of Willow Falls, he finds himself drawn to three other teens -ZACH, BRETT and TONYA – that, for years, have tormented EDITH CRANSTON, a 74-year-old mysterious recluse and, rumor has it, a murderer.
Suddenly, Chris finds himself an unwilling participant in the evil pranks and sadistic jokes his new friends play on the old woman, who they hold responsible for the death of one Tanya’s little sister.
Late one dark October night – after her death – Edith Cranston decides it’s payback time.
Her husband Edward summons the teens to their home and announces a startling proclamation: Cranston has Edward bury her with a telephone installed in her coffin. Cranston has agreed to pay each of the four $100,000 if they will each call her grave and remain on the line for sixty seconds.
